Post Office launches extra cover to protect Christmas gifts for
homeowners

People who have just bought houses for sale in the UK could be
tempted to take out home contents insurance with the Post Office
after it revealed that it will offer more protection this
Christmas.
The financial services provider has increased the cover on its Post
Office Home Insurance policy by ten per cent during December 2010,
in anticipation for the extra valuables being stored within
properties over the festive period.
Policyholders will automatically benefit from this additional
increase, so that they do not have to worry as much about their
goods being damaged or stolen.
The firm's head of Home Insurance Gerry Barrett said: "By
automatically raising the level of cover during this period, the
Post Office ensures that customers have one less thing to worry
about."
Therefore, he added, homeowners can "enjoy the festive season with
peace of mind".
People were also recently encouraged to take out comprehensive home
insurance after Confused.com's Gareth Kloet said the colder weather
can cause "massive damage" to properties, adding that cover will
"minimise the impact" of any costs incurred.
