Houses for sale 'have gone up in price'

Homeowners will be happy to hear that houses for sale have
increased in value for the second quarter of 2010.
Recent figures from Knight Frank showed that home prices have risen
during every quarter over the last year.
They have also revealed that the highest quarterly growth was
recorded in the south-west, where prices shot up by 3.3 per
cent.
Over the entire year though, houses for sale in the Home Counties
went up most in value - increasing by 10.7 per cent.
Andrew Shirley, head of rural property research at Knight Frank,
said: "A continued shortage of property for sale and a resurgence
in demand is helping to boost prices in most parts of the
UK."
Houses for sale in and around London have also seen a jump in
value, with Henley recording a 6.6 per cent rise.
It is not just properties in suburbs that have risen in price as
country house costs increased by eight per cent over the past 12
months.
The results come after Performance Window Group encouraged
homeowners to redecorate their houses in order to hike up their
values.
